Movie Release Date30th November, 2012
The most awaited movie by the Perfectionist, Aamir Khan, finally released its music album recently on 18th of October, 2012. The movie was in the limelight for about a year and more and adding to this was the delay in the release date for about a year. Although, we will not land on those grounds but we focus on the music, engineered by Ram Sampath

After being associated with Delly Belly and then the reality show, Satyamev Jayate which grabbed the attention of the whole nation, Ram Sampath turns out to be pro for making generic music which goes with the theme of The Movie. The music of Talaash speaks all about the story line and the material inside the movie. With 6 tracks in store including a remix, which is basically done by him as well, explains his credentials with the melody. Of course, the whole section of appreciation rather, another man who has an equal contribution just because of the words in the song which obviously raised the level of all the songs in the album, Javed Akhtar. One more master piece adds to his list. (I wonder how he plays with the words, maybe I could do that too!).

Here is my review just for you.

1. Mushkanein Jhooti hai – by Suman Sridhar- This song unseemingly is a head start to the film and is surely creating some buzz for the movie. Suman Sridhar with her unique vocals manages effortlessly to make it to those old pub style dance music. The song was a must for a suspense movie and with words describing that all is nothing but fake in the world. Excellent work done for the lyrics and for the music, tempo, beats and rhythm seems okay.

My Ratings for this Song – 2.5/5, Mood – Dinner Table, Restaurants, Driving

2. Jee le Zaraa – by Vishal Dadlani – You know what we need to talk of, no? Its right here, yet another piece by Vishal and this time a romantic number. Definitely is going to draw all the attention undoubtedly. The new beats and tune seems very refreshing, though the music goes a little low only on the pitch which is not the concern but it needed to extend a little further to what it is. The lyrics are awesome, including the music and start and end is smooth which really defines it, to be a intense and romantic number.

My Rating for this song – 4/5, Mood – With/Without your soulmate

3. Jiya Lage Na – by Sona Mohapatra & Ravindra Upadhayay – A modern classical song is a new surprise to talk of. The use of unorthodox Hindi and Sanskrit words explains about the “Near but Far” sense and embedding a fast e-beat with a hand with Tabla, takes it to be another hit for Sona. Ravindra did play his part equally well with no complaints either and both of them making this song a soothing piece for the audience.

My Ratings for this song – 3.5/5, Mood – Sleeping, Rainy Season

4. Hona Hai Kya – by Ram Sampath – With no title track to the movie, Ram, could possibly include this track to justify the genre of the movie and here it is, which he himself has sung, knowing his voice would definitely create a depth in the song. The tempo of the song is quite ravishing. Starting with a slow graph the tempo steeps to a level from where the actual feel starts. Including an e-form of the shout that Pancham Da used to make, is definitely a good Job, RS!

My Ratings for the Music – 3.5/5, Mood – Driving, Bar, Disco

5. Laakh Duniya Kahe – by Ram Sampath – Yet again Ram on the mikes, with a master piece lyrics by Javed Akhtar, and a sweet, soothing and cute romantic ballad which enters right into your veins. It’s the music and the lyrics that play with each other and finally turns out to be one more top level song for the album. The chorus with some female voice seems a good combo. Some portions like “Tumne chhoda kab saath mera, thaame ho aaj bhi haath mera, koi manjil koi rehgujar ho, aaj bhi tum mere humsafar ho…jaun chahe jahaan tum wahin ho…” 1st stanza, should definitely go into a loop.

My Ratings for the music – 4/5, Mood – Sleeping, Driving, Thinking, Having a coffee

Overall, the album with a less number of tracks manages to keep the spirit of the audience for the movie. Javed Akhtar, Ram Sampath with all the singers should be appreciated as a whole. The disappointing part was theme music for the album which I don’t know why Ram didn’t get an idea of. The remix of the song Jee le zaraa was unessential. Yet, Ram manages to bring out variety in the genre of music but falls back at some points. I must say Ram and his team have done their work and now it’s the time for Reema to catch the audience with her intellect. Till then groove to the songs and wait till 30th Nov strikes in your calendar.
My Ratings for the Album – 3/5.
