Music is the wine which inspires one to new generative processes, and I am Bacchus who presses out this glorious wine for mankind and makes them spiritually drunken ~ Ludwig van Beethoven

It’s in the wind, the air, the chirruping of birds, the river, the drops of rain, the thunder. Music is omnipresent. It’s all around us. All you have to do is open yourself up. All you have to do is listen through your heart. It’s a miracle. It connects you with the almighty. It connects two souls. 

‘Zephyr ‘, the band was formed with no motive other than passion. The members of the band have a single thing in common. It’s the enormous love for music. A leisure time activity of playing music inspired them to make their own recipe with the drums, guitars and keyboards. It was definitely an awe-inspiring experience.

Making of a band is really an arduous task. You need passion for it, deep love for it and resources to make it big. We had the first two things in abundance. The band started with four members. Sabyasachi, Kelvin, Nitesh and Gautam and later on was fortified with Swagat and Sourav.

Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. So The Zephyr came up with the idea of making some original stuff; making music that depicts their feelings, emotions and a story that they can narrate in the form a song.

The first song that Zephyr composed was an Odiya song ‘Sanga Mane Pade’ about friendship. The song portrays the phases of friendship: the childhood days, the school days, the college days, how we all rejoiced the moments and at last we hanker for the good old days. The soothing background music combined with the touching lyrics makes this Song an instant choice for the Youth. This fresh new Song is already earning good views in YouTube.

We queried the Band about their Origin and this is what Sabyasachi Das had to say -

Swagat is in his final semester of post graduation in music. He is a jewel we have; full of creativity, passion and love for music. Composing a song was fun for us. I still remember the day we started composing it. It was raining a lot. We were at Nitesh’s place. The hour hand of the clock was on 10. And we had a plate of samosas and two acoustic guitars. Thanks to Kelvin, the drummer of Zephyr, for coming up with a good theme and few lines of the lyrics. Well that was the beginning. For the next ten days we immersed ourselves into the river of symphony, rhythm and notes. We swam across it. The journey was gratifying, swift and intoxicating

All I can say is that The Band Zephyr have perfectly justified their name creating a new wave of refreshing music that touches our thoughts and emotions.
